Order Information

While you are browsing our store, we will use cookies to keep track or your cart contents and recently viewed products.

We also collect information about you during the online checkout process. When you make a purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, email, phone number, delivery address, and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes such as to:

  • Send you information about your account and order
  • Process payments and prevent fraud
  • Comply with any legal and accounting obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
  • Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
  • Set up your account for our store
  • Improve our store offerings
  • Send you marketing messages, (if you choose to receive them)

If you choose to create an account, we will store your name, email, phone number, and delivery address, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.

Login Information

When you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login. Login cookies last for two days. If you select ‘Remember Me’, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Payment Information

When you checkout you will be asked to provide your credit card details for payment.

Credit card payments are processed through eWay, a third-party payment provider. The only information we receive and store is:

  • The type of card used
  • The last four digits of the card number
  • The card expiry date
  • Whether the transaction was successful, and
  • If unsuccessful, an error code and short description of why

If you have an account with us and choose to save your card details for future orders, this information will be stored securely on eWay’s encrypted servers – we will not be able to see it. You can delete your card information at any time from the ‘My Account’ page. You must be logged in to do so. More information about how eWay stores your information can be found here.

Device Information

Each time you visit our website, certain information about your device is automatically shared with us. This includes details about your device type, which web browser you’re using, and what country you’re browsing from. We also collect information about how you interact with our website, such as what pages or products you view, what links you click on, etc.

Device information is kept completely anonymous and cannot be used to identify you. We use this information for purely for analytical purposes. Being able to see how our customers browse and interact with our website gives us insight on how we can improve and optimize our online store for a better user experience.

2. Who on our team has access

Members of our staff have access to the information you provide us. For example, both administrators and shop staff can access:

Order information – such as what was purchased, when it was purchased, and where/who it was delivered to.

Customer information – such as your name, email address, and phone number.

Payment information – specifically the type of card used, the last four digits of the card, the expiry of the card, and whether or not payment was successful.

3. What we share with others

We share information with third parties who help us provide our services to you. These third parties include:

Google Analytics – We use Google Analytics to collect and analyse your device information. Detailed information on how Google collects and stores your personal information can be found here. You can opt out of Google Analytics here.

Mailchimp – We use Mailchimp to send out promotional emails about our products and services. If you choose to sign up to our email marketing list your name and email address will be shared with Mailchimp. You can read about how Mailchimp keeps your data secure here. You can opt out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time, either by clicking the link at the bottom of the email, or by sending an email to admin@thelostflowershed.co.nz.

eWay – We accept payments through eWay. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed on to eWay, including information required to process or support your payment, such as the purchase total, your name, email, phone number, billing country, and order number. Floral Delivery Services – We use third-party floral delivery contractors to deliver our orders, and to do so we must share your delivery address and the delivery recipient’s contact information with these services.

We may also share your data in order to comply with any lawful request for information we receive.

4. How long we retain your information

In accordance with the laws and regulations of New Zealand, we retain all customer purchase records for a minimum of seven years for tax and accounting purposes, after which point it will be securely destroyed.

You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you’d like a copy of your information, or need us to make a correction, send an email to admin@thelostflowershed.co.nz. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. Please note that this does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

An up-to-date version of this policy will always be available here on this page. Your continued use of this website following any updates to this policy constitutes an agreement to those changes. This policy has been updated to reflect the changes implemented in the Privacy Act 2020.
